| Thoughtbarn is a design studio that champions artful utility through buildings, urban strategies, public installations and furniture. We help clients realize ambitious projects with tight resources, using a strategic approach of invention, resourcefulness and collaboration. Since our launch in 2006 we’ve worked with entrepreneurs, local governments and homeowners on diverse projects near and far from our base in Austin, TX. What kind of projects have we been involved in? A solar-powered way-finding system for the Lance Armstrong bikeway. A house which can be fully recycled. A glowing cloud of lights using LEDs and plastic bottles. The transformation of a music venue using salvaged materials. Artist studios with ventilating skins and earth-block walls. Two chairs in one..... In 2010 we were proud to be named amongst '10 to Watch' on Austin's creative scene by Tribeza magazine.
